Attorney Mullen was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Upon graduating from Edward R. Murrow High School, she migrated 'down south' to complete her undergraduate studies at North Carolina Central University. After receiving her Baccalaureate Degree in Criminal Justice, Attorney Mullen continued her studies at NCCU's School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor in 1997.After receiving her J.D., Attorney Mullen returned to New York, where she served as an Assistant District Attorney in Kings County/Brooklyn. While in New York, Attorney Mullen also served as an attorney for the Board of Education. After serving the city, Attorney Mullen practiced law as an associate for a few private law firms in Manhattan and in Long Island, where she honed her trial skills defending individuals for major insurance companies in automobile related litigation (also referred to as insurance defense litigation).In 2004, Attorney Mullen relocated to Virginia and worked as a sole practitioner until 2008. Her focus in private practice was real estate law, business law, contracts, personal injury law and criminal defense.For the next 10 years, Attorney Mullen served as a prosecutor for the citizens of Hampton, Virginia in the Hampton Commonwealth's Attorney's Office. During her tenure there, she prosecuted all types of criminal offenses ranging from minor law violations to major crimes (ie: burglaries, robberies, drug offenses and homicides).After leaving the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, Attorney Mullen served the Commonwealth of Virginia as an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Division of Virginia's Office of the Attorney General in Richmond.Attorney Mullen has been practicing law for over 22 years. She has extensive trial experience and a record of successful bench and jury trial verdicts.
