Now that the dust has settled, I can write this review with a clear mind. My son was charged with to different counts under measure 11. I was beside myself. I got on the internet and started reviewing attorney's. It was Casey Kovacic hands down. You must read his mission statement. He walked us through the process every step of the way. He made sure that my son had the best psychologist to complete evaluations and show the State of OR. that he was emotionally unstable and he even crafted a question when my son took the lie detector test. Which helped his case and proved to be successful. My son was looking at 11 to 14 years. Casey was able to reduce his sentence to 21 months with time severed. A total of 24 months. My son is taking accountability for his actions. He will be a better man for it. I will never be able to thank Casey enough. I have sweet tears. I know in my heart that my son was not an easy client due to his mental health, but Casey stayed with him. And I could have been 67 years old before he was released. I would recommend Casey to anyone that is facing criminal charges. He is worth every penny. You might say he is for the underdog. Thank you again Casey. We won't ever forget you.
Mr. Kovacic represented my son on an unfortunate situation in Multnomah County. His efforts helped get my son the best result possible and we are so grateful his name was passed along to us as a dependable local criminal attorney.
A while back I was caught with drugs in my truck. I was locked up and told by the cops I was looking at 5 YEARS IN PRISON. Casey was my public defender. HE WAS INCREDIBLE. That dude knew his stuff and was smooooth in court. The first time I met him in jail he told me right away he wanted to go to trial. He said the cops illegally search my truck and the DA's would give me a sh***y plea deal cause they were all nutjobs in Washington County. He filed a motion and guess what...WE WON! CASE DISMISSED. Casey is THE MAN. Your lucky if you get him.
In the three months I was suppose to have council, I was provided with one meeting consisting of thirty- nine minutes , with one attorney in the Metro public defenders office, at which time I was told of various methods that would be used in building my defense. I was told, "let them do the work", My job was to show up at court. I followed those directions. I went to court. Then I was told my case was" set over" , then given new date to appear. I Complied. ENTER CASEY KOVACIC, with no notice, I am now represented by council that has never even spoke to me.? I receive an offer to plea.? (WHAT HAPPENED TO MY DEFENSE?) I am granted another thirty-five minute "meeting" at which time I learn there is no defense. It is my opinion , I would have been better served if I could have retained private council. However, I do not feel that Casey was the problem. Casey was frank with me, in a civil, and considerate manner. He presents well, and is a great speaker.
