I was advised about my options for expungement of my criminal record. Carolyn was able to find my charges and advise me on how to proceed. Thanks Carolyn!
Ms.Powers is a blessing. She helped me more then I can put into words. She a is a wonderful Lawyer, who puts 100% into helping her client, to the highest degree.. Thank you vary much for your help.
Carolyn treated me like family and worked diligently to resolve my affairs. I would recommend her to anyone who needs someone in there corner.
I'm very please with all the work Carolyn put into my case. She's a lawyer with an MBA and that kind of expertise is priceless. Talented, thorough, and results-oriented. Hire her!
Carolyn Powers is highly knowledgeable, accommodating, assertive, thorough, dedicated and is an excellent human being. I was given an amazing job opportunity out of state that required me to relocate. Although I had primary physical custody of my children, my ex and I shared legal custody. He agreed to let the children relocate with me until I sold my home, had given required notice to my employer, and was less than one week away from attending required training (across the country) for the new position. Carolyn came highly recommended from a colleague of mine. After hearing my story, Carolyn agreed to meet with me even though it was her day off. I was immediately impressed by her pleasant down-to-earth nature and strong, assertive presence. She was very thorough in collecting every bit of information needed to present our case in court. Her listening skills are unmatched and attention to detail unparalleled. She knew exactly what my ex might present in court and had the fore site to plan for any /all scenarios. Carolyn was beyond prepared for our case and her confidence and support was incredibly encouraging.
Found this attorney randomly and had a great intial talk with her. she gave me the impression that she was trustworthy and cared. After meeting with her, I liked what she said and decided to go with her. I know everyones situation is different but my situaiton was resolved within the week. She made me feel like I was her only client and she communicated with me often and promptly. I will be giving her my buisness again! THANKS CAROLYN
After reviewing all the items on the billing at great detail, it was obvious the billing was rounded to make things easier. For example, 15 min of billing for a text message that she sent me and I responded to, accruing another 15 min on the bill. Things of that nature racked up a substantial portion of a 5k+ bill. All the text messages were downloaded to the attorney’s computer for future reference, so I am led to believe that I was paying for that as well. I also was specific about certain things I wanted in the paperwork. When she was complete, it was wrong, dragging out the agreement even more. The corrections were made with more specifics mentioned; they were still wrong; thus, dragging out the agreement even more. All this I was billed for. I understand the attorney’s time is costly and valuable. I was left feeling like the billing reflected all corrections that needed to be made, the time to discuss how the paperwork was wrong, and then paperwork discussed and resent for review. Eventually, all the things I originally asked for in the agreement was in place as it should be, it just took several times to get it right, all this I was billed for. I felt like Carolyn was not attentive to what I said. I felt early on that time I was being billed for was used extremely inefficiently. In the end she was paid and paperwork was eventually correct, but I regret using this attorney with the cost of what I needed done. My case was quite simple, an agreement was already made, and it just needed to be put into writing. There was too much communicating for what I needed and I felt like I had to talk in circles with Carolyn for there to be an understanding. In the end, my post should be clear enough for someone to reason out that the Carolyn did accomplish her job on my behalf, but I would like to state it for Carolyn’s’ behalf. Things did not end up in court; however, I don’t feel they would have needed to go to court with the case I had. She worked with me as best she could on a different matter while handling the other matter and she did well for that case for me. In the end, I felt the billing was too high for what I needed and it was due to all the explained above.
Carolyn took one of my moat challenging experiences and made it 10x worse. In 2015 I retained Caeoly to assist me in filing for divorce from my now ex-husband. It was to be a simple divorce as we did not have much shared or contested property. The only major point of contention was the custody of our young child, as we had agreed to no spousal or child support. After paying the initial retainer things seemed to be going okay; however after only a court hearings and emails to my ex's attorney she had burned through the initial retainer. Ok. I place more money to retain her. During this time my ex agrees to let me back into the apartment which I was an occupant on. We set up a date, time, I rent a moving truckand get my family to take off work to help me get my belongings. As I am preparing to leave my ex text me and says je does not want me in the apartment. I immediately call and email Carolyn, who knew I was to get my belongings that day, to ask what I should do. I did not hear from her, but did hear from the apartment place who said my name was on the lease and he could not stop me from entering. The police were called to ensure that there were no issues and that I only took what was mine and the our childs. There were no issues. When I arrived back home I saw a message from Carolyn stating that I should not attemp to get my belongings; however the message was sent long after I had contacted her and even after the issue had been resolved, which I let her know. I then receive an email from her stating that she was dropping me as a client because I went against her advice! And she kept my retainer that I had just reloaded. I was devistated and also had to find money for a new attorney. Luckily a family friend was able to help me out. When she took over my case she was able to see that there was things Carolyn didn't file and emails that hadn't been returned, that was dragging my divorce out. My new attorney helped me wrap up things quickly. I would not recommend Carolyn. I felt she took advantage of me, was either scared of my ex's attorney or less qualified, took my money and ran. If it wouldn't have cost me more money to get my money back from her I definitely would have looked more into it. Do yourself a favor and save you money by not falling victim to Carolyn Powers.
Hired her for child custody case. My husband and I prepared all court documents and Mrs. Powers did not promptly follow up on serious issues pertaining to my case. I never received any billing statements per mail as informed by Mrs. Powers. Asked for billing statements via email and was shocked to read balance of approximately $9,000 dollars not including $2,000 retainer and we only went to court 2 hours! Yes she spent time outside of court on my case , but her billing statement did not reflect work on my case. Very disappointed and would not recommend. She was very caring but not good lawyer overall. She had my mailing address wrong multiple times, my husband and opposing counsel names wrong entire time. Do not recommend. Her bill was several thousand higher than my ex husbands !
