Ms. Newman was hired in December 2011 to help my family to partition property that is jointly owned by several other parties. It’s been nearly 5 years and thousands of dollars spent on her fees and poor recommendations, and we are absolutely no further on this case than when we started. She repeatedly asked for paperwork/documentation that had to be explained and re-explained to her. For example, we were asked to provide her with all receipts pertaining to the property, inventory every item in the disputed property, create spreadsheets and timelines of past rents and expenses, purchase a survey ($1200) of the property and obtain an appraisal for court ($3000). She told us the opposing party should pay half of the appraisal and survey, which she did not pursue. When she did finally go before the judge with our 3 inch stack of backup paperwork, I received a call from her saying that none of our information was presented and she was told by the judge that we needed to work this out among ourselves. This outcome was never even presented as a remote possibility. I now believe she had little to no understanding of how to get this resolved for us. I cannot recommend her for this type of work.
