Reading through the other reviews I can see why he might have gotten a one-star review. His manner in which you conduct business is a bit off the cuff, but that does not mean he does not know law. I've hired him twice to protect my rights as a father, a witch both times I got just about everything I wanted. When you are not married to the mother and after fight it out the court system is automatically against you. With such bias instilled in the laws, Carey was able to skillfully navigate mycase through those laws to position me for full custody. He's been doing divorce and custody cases for many years of which he is highly respected amongst his peers. We had to hire a child representative downtown who's straight up told me Carey was a very good attorney. Because of the work carried a deposition mean with the mother to get full custody. And 3 years ago she finally let him live with me full time, knowing we were one more court case away from him being awarded to me. Child custody court is not easy, it's actually scary, that some person has the authority to take your god-given right of parenting away. Even though Carrie is a little bit like a mad scientist, he does know what he's doing, even when it doesn't look like it.

Carey is an outstanding lawyer. I'm not sure what the other reviewers who are saying he doesn't answer his phone are talking about. Most lawyers are not able to answer their calls when they are in a court room. He ALWAYS called back the first moment he could. He also provides his cell phone so every time you call, you are calling HIM not a receptionist or office, etc. He also told me up front what could happen with my case (best, worst, most likely scenario) and he handled it very professionally and quickly so I would not be billed unnecessary court room hours. My case was expected to drag out but it didn't thanks to Cary and I got the best case scenario. I always recommend Carey and if I will have to, I will use him again! He is not crooked like most lawyers who tell you what you want to hear but don't deliver. If you want an honest lawyer who will work hard for you then this is it!

Carey handled my child custody trial and was outstanding. The trial was very lengthy and contentious and he ultimately convinced the judge to award me custody of my son. My ex was miffed.

Mr. Cosentino is knowledgeable enough to adjudicate the simplest Divorce/Child Custody cases. However, he was inept at keeping me informed of very important status dates. He lacked responsiveness needed with calls, emails, regarding very important questions, status dates/court appearances. When I posed serious questions pertaining to my Shared Custody case. I would often wait days or even weeks for him to return my calls/emails. Mr. Cosentino failed to notify me of a status/court date regarding temporary child support which required my appearance , allowing the petition to be granted to the respondent without my knowledge. I raised the question of paternity, which went ignored for over a year. He finally managed to enter a petition for DNA testing and promptly filed a motion to withdraw as counsel, failing to consult with me before doing so. Mr. Cosentino seemed more interested in providing the court with my pay records than establishing my paternity. Mr. Cosentino would neglect to inform me of status/court dates requiring my appearance in court. He would then contact me via email stating I would be held in contempt of court if I failed to appear at the next status/court date. When given specific instructions Mr. Cosentino would often ignore requests and fail to contact or consult with me before making decisions. I would not recommend retaining Mr. Cosentino.

Horrible attorney. Doesn't call back when needed. When we went to court for my hearing he said that it's nice to enjoy your freedom without your children. WHAT???!!! Flies by the seat of his pants. Tells you he's going to one thing then does what he wants. I wasn't real sure who he was working for half the time. Doesn't return important docutments of yours. DO NOT HIRE THIS ATTORNEY
