About
What I do:I help people who are charged with crimes. I also help people prove their innocence even after they’ve been convicted of a crime. I love what I do because my own experience have shown me the value of good legal advice. My law firm is founded on the principle that good legal advice should be available to everyone charged with a crime, not just the wealthy or well-connected.How I do it:I help people by sitting down and listening. After I listen, we make a plan to get the best result possible. Sometimes that means we go to battle in front of a jury. Sometimes that means we negotiate a plea agreement with the prosecutor. Whatever it takes, I am here to help.

Bryan Jones assisted me with post-conviction relief in a difficult criminal case, and he was so tremendously knowledgeable and capable that I retained him to advocate for me in the out-of-state military divorce that followed. I appointed him attorney-in-fact over my finances during incarceration, and he maintains the highest standard of professional ethics. He keeps detailed and complete records of every transaction, and he successfully manages demand deposit (checking and savings), credit, and insurance accounts for me. He effectively navigates the intimidating bureaucracy of VADOC, an admirable feat in itself. I retained him again to coordinate my reentry planning, and I am currently residing in the clean and safe apartment he leased for me with power of attorney. I highly recommend Bryan Jones in any criminal or civil matter. He is a compassionate and dedicated advocate and absolutely trustworthy.
I met with several attorneys to help with a recent case. Bryan was the only one that took the time to ask questions and better understand me, my background, and the situation I found myself in. Every other attorney told me that I had no choice but to accept some fairly harsh penalties to which I was facing. Bryan spent a good amount of time listening to me, afterwards stating that he believed he could help minimize those penalties. When everyone else told me this was not possible, Bryan expressed confidence in his ability to help. And Bryan delivered. This was the first (and hopefully only) time I have needed an attorney in a criminal case, and did not even know where to start. Bryan is someone that made me feel more at ease with the process, and made an extraordinarily bad situation much better for both myself and my family. If you want an attorney that looks beyond just the case and sees you, Bryan is someone you should call.
When I queried Bryan Jones about a legal matter, he answered promptly and courteously, giving me all the information I needed, as if I were an important client instead of someone he didn't even know. He did not stand to gain financially from our first exchange, instead he was genuinely interested in my case. This can be unusual-- it made an extremely positive impression, and I wanted to pass that along.
It is hard to put into words how much of an impact on your life there is when you find someone you love charged with a crime. Even knowing that justice should work in their favor it can quickly become apparent that without someone fighting on their behalf that justice, fairness or even right may not be a part of the outcome. I was very fortunate in finding Bryan Jones when I faced watching my elderly father face charges that seemed quite frankly to me that they should have never made it into court in the first place. While at first we thought the charges should be easily resolved, we quickly faced the fact that without someone to work and speak on my father’s behalf that court would not go well for him, regardless of innocence or fairness. I could not have found a better person / attorney than Bryan to represent my father and help us through the court process. Bryan is compassionate, kind, professional and a very knowledgeable attorney. I would highly recommend him without hesitation to anyone who is in need of someone to represent them or a loved one.
Bryan helped me get my gun rights restored from a conviction in Va. back in 1977. I have lived in NC since 1988 and Bryan was able to complete this task with me only having to make one trip to Charlottesville. Being out of State we communicated mostly by e-mail or phone, Bryan done this well, kept me informed. Thanks again Bryan, Great Job!
Bryan helped me in a speeding ticket in Shenandoah national park. There are not much lawyers in this area that takes this type of ticket. Bryan is the most responsive one among those lawyers. He is professional. His responses are quick and precise. He was able to draft a motion for me so that I don't have to fly from west coast to east coast to appear at court. Other lawyers, either they don't know the motion or ask me to draft the motion.
Bryan was helpful and responsive throughout my case. He either answered the phone or called me back right away. He was ultimately able to get my charge reduced and I did not even have to appear in court.
I can't say enough good things about Bryan! I hired him for a very unusual and complicated reckless driving charge. He went above and beyond for me and I am extremely happy with the outcome. He was very responsive to emails and phone calls and kept me informed throughout the whole process. I spoke with about 15 attorneys before I hired him and I am so glad that I did. I can't recommend him enough!
A big thank you to Bryan for helping me in my time of need. I am from NC and was jailed in Va. My mom found Bryan thru Avvo. On a Saturday, she emailed him and he called her the same day to say he would be glad to represent me. He was super nice and friendly and very easy to work with. So glad I had him on my side. Hopefully I will not need his services again, but if you ever need a great lawyer, please look Bryan up and see if he can help you as he did me. Thanks so much Bryan for all you did for me and my family.
I can't recommend Bryan Jones enough. I spoke with several attorney's regarding my case and Mr. Jones surpassed them all by leaps and bounds. We have yet to go to trial but he made me feel very assured about the ins and outs regarding my case. We discussed the options and my concerns and I now feel completely at ease knowing that Bryan is doing everything in his power to represent me to the best of his ability. Super accessible and always had a thorough response for any of my inquiries. I was skeptical being the reputation lawyers have but speaking with Mr. Jones was like chatting with an old friend who happens to practice criminal defense. With any luck I won't be needing his services again but I would hire him again without a doubt and have in fact recommended him since our encounter. Thanks for everything you do for good people caught up in bad situations. Best attorney in town. Worth every penny.
