When I first met Bruce I had just found out that my spouse of 24 years had filed for a divorce. I was distraught, upset but mostly scared out of my mind. I had not worked for most of marriage, taking time to raise four children, one with a disability. My divorce took around eight months and along the way I learned a lot about what it takes to be not just a good lawyer, but a good family lawyer. Bruce knows the law, Bruce knows the other lawyers, Bruce knows how to argue in front of a judge. Those are all important things. But to be a good family lawyer, one handling divorces and custody issues you also need to be able to communicate with your own client. I watched my ex-husband arguing with his lawyer in the courthouse hallways. By contrast Bruce helped me to understand the process, make my way through the craziness and position myself to achieve the things that were important to me. His ability to communicate with me and help me see what could be achieved is in my opinion what makes him not just a "very good" lawyer (per his rating on this website), but a Superior lawyer. Thanks for the help and good advice.
Mr. Foodman was recently appointed by the Stamford Superior Court to serve as one of two "Special Masters" assigned to mediate my divorce case. After almost a year of fighting I was convinced that there was no hope for me and my wife. This guy listened, worked with the other special master and helped set us on the road to getting matters resolved. Both my ex-wife and I were especially appreciative of Mr. Foodman's emphasis on doing what was right for our children and our family moving forward. If you ever read this... Thanks!
I retained Mr. Foodman to represent me in my divorce in 2008. My case was one of the few that ended up in a trial and frankly I was glad to have Mr. Foodman as my trial lawyer. Mr. Foodman was articulate, smart, knowledgable, well prepared and seemed to have great rapport with the trial judge. Mr. Foodman did a great job for me!
Mr. Foodman did a great job for me. My case was in the Stamford Superior Court. I never write reviews like this, but Mr. Foodman was very knowledable, was well known in the courthouse both among his peers and court personnel and while a little low with the return phone calls made me feel at ease at a difficult time in my life. I have referred him to a friend who has also expressed their satisfaction to me about Mr. Foodman's representation
