About
Practicing since 1968, Orange County, California, attorney, Brian G. Saylin has focused his practice exclusively to the areas of family law and California Appellate Practice. Mr. Saylin has been certified by the State of California as a Specialist in Family Law and has been elected as a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Mr. Saylin lectures fellow lawyers in the Continuing Education of the Bar in the areas of Divorce and Appellate Practice, and has taught law at Western State College of Law.For over 40 years, Mr. Saylin has had outstanding success with the complexities of family law and is an acclaimed courtroom litigator. His vast legal knowledge and extensive trial experience enable him to provide insights to clients to aid them in making informed, reasonable decisions, in emotionally turbulent situations and under any circumstances imaginable. Mr. Saylin understands that these decisions can have an immense impact on his client’s lives and the lives of their children, and always performs his duties at a masterful level and with solemn reverence for the person or family involved.Practicing in the lower courts, while engaging in the appellate practice, has polished Mr. Saylin’s proficiency in each of these areas and has made him the attorney that other lawyers turn to when they need an assessment of a case- before, during, or after a trial. Beginning your journey with a Certified Family Law Specialist who limits his appellate practice to the area of family law affords an incredible benefit to a client throughout a dissolution proceeding, in that he is the foremost expert in the orchestration of this type of case, can capitalize on situations as they arise and is more able than any to shorten the duration of the dissolution process and reduce the costs a client occurs during these proceedings. To be as successful in this top of the field model of practice as he has, Mr Saylin must maintain an intimate knowledge of all cases that come down from the Appellate and Supreme Courts in the area of Family Law. With scores of appeals behind him- including the published decisions in re Marriage of Koester, In re Marriage of Schaefer, In re Marriage of Dunn, In re Marriage of Henry, In re Marriage of Reissmueller, and In re Marriage of Kochan- Mr. Saylin has represented clients throughout the State of California, and is widely esteemed as one of the top attorney’s in the state.Mr. Saylin has been selected as a Super Lawyer for the past eight years by SuperLawyers.com, and has received the (AV) rating by Martindale- Hubbell- the highest rating in legal ability and ethical standards. When Brian is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, and his family, which includes nine grandchildren. He can also be found on another court- the tennis court. Brian is an avid tennis player and loves competing in local tournaments.

Brian and his team are great and were able to help out. They were very fair on billing and my bill came out 1/3 of the opposing side's attorney.
Brian is a good lawyer, but watch out...he likes to talk and your bill will reflect that! Other than that, possibly the most honest lawyer I have met, and never plays games.
Took the money and kept the case going. Over $50,000 later he withdrew as my lawyer because he didn't do the required discovery. Tried to charge me another $20,000 to remove himself as my attorney. Bad news.
Brian was hired to help me with a child support issue. I had a 70% drop in income and wanted a support modification. Not only was Brian unable to assist in getting the child support modified to something reasonable and affordable, the child support was increased over 60% from the previous amount of support. I'm not sure how anybody could be that inept. I would have been much better off never having Brian's "help". It costs me $5000 to get my support raised instead of lowered. The system would not allow me to rate him zero stars or I would have, one star is way too high.
I hired The Law Offices of Saylin & Swisher, 625 The City Drive South, Suite 260, Orange CA 92868 to represent me when my ex-wife filed an appeal to overturn a judgment about our former family residence. Brian Saylin and Lindsay Swisher not only failed to represent me in my best interest (the trial court decision was reversed in part and remanded to the trial court for further proceedings) but at the end of the trial, they decided to charge me additional $15,000 on top of the $15,000 I had already paid them. After trying to negotiate with them the terms of their alleged time and charges spent on my case (they produced a 30-page document and wanted to charge me $30,000 for it) I had to bring Mr. Sayilin and Ms. Swisher to arbitration with the Orange County Bar Association. At the end of the arbitration hearing, the Orange County Bar Association concluded that The Law Offices of Saylin & Swisher not only did not have the right to charge me additional $15,000 but they had to refund to me about $4,000 of the $15,000 I had already paid them. These facts should make you think twice before you decide to hire The Law Offices of Saylin & Swisher.
