Litigation is more about resolving problems consistent with the client's needs and desires than the glorified courtroom battles you commonly see portrayed on television programs.  In order to be an effective litigator, you have to be able to communicate with a wide range of people--your clients, opposing counsel, witnesses, mediators, arbitrators and judges.  After all, a lawyer's stock in trade is the ability to communicate. I pride myself on my ability to communicate with people from all backgrounds by explaining the issues of a particular case or dispute in a way that makes sense to them, while also having the skills to make well organized and articulate arguments to a judge or jury on behalf of my client.
