We have young kids, and didn't have an estate plan. I didn't think we needed one, as we had modest assets. However, after speaking with Brian, he really conveyed estate planning is not just about $$$ but more importantly your children, and the enviroment they will grow up in if something happens to you and your spouse. On top of this, he found extremely efficient ways to protect assets not only from insurance proceeds, but other sources, from estate taxes - which are roughly 60%. I rarely refer people, but I sent his info to my brother, who also used him, and was pleased. He was: 1) Prompt - returns calls/emails quickly 2) Knowledgeable - as he was able to convey complex ideas to my wife and I, and didn't mind explaining them again. 3) I truly believe he is a decent , honest person - something most lawyers are not!!! We actually "shopped" our estate plan to a few other attorneys, but when you combine his knowledge (look at his industry accolades), ability to communicate in a simple manner, his values, and ability to make a plan tailored to fit our needs - it was a no brainer.
