About
Having worked as a public school teacher, Denver divorce attorney Brian R. Boney has seen firsthand the effect family disputes can have on children.During his teach career, he also learned a great amount of patience, and that sometimes people must come to terms emotionally with their family crisis before they can handle it legally.“I wanted to practice in an area of law that matters a great deal personally to families and children,” Mr. Boney said. “I have both the patience and the understanding needed to realize that there are times you first have to deal with the person before dealing with the case.”With that patience and understanding also comes the knowledge that the divorce process will never go as quickly as his clients would like, and there will likely be times they grow frustrated with the legal system.“However, it’s my job to get you through this tough time with the best outcome for you and your children,” Mr. Boney said. “So, you are not going through this alone.”

At the start Brian seemed competent and confident, but sent me on a course in a custody battle that costed me more time, money, and loss than I could have ever imagined. I sent him everything he needed to pursue my case but he showed up to the hearing unprepared, sweating profusely, and as the judge described "woefully inadequate." Please look elsewhere. He says he cares, but only about billable hours.
I hired Mr. Boney to handle a child support case, my ex was deployed and the motion was held to his return. When my exhusband returned, I let Mr. Boney know and then I never heard from him again. In the mean time, my ex filed a motion to modify parenting which I was unaware of since the motion was sent to Mr. Boney. I had to hire a different attorney to handle the motion and come up with additional funds for a retainer since Mr. Boney still had mine. My new lawyer was finally able to get a hold of Mr. Boney and my retainer was refunded in full; however, there could have been serious consequences to me not finding out about my ex's motion to modify parenting. I only found out because I called the Department of Attorney regulation to file a complaint and they told me. This all hapened in Dec 2016. I am just writing this review today because I was informed by the Dept of Attorney regulation that Mr. Boney was found to be guilty or whatever term they use for misconduct on my case. I do not want to misrepresent any findings so please do your research and you will find what disciplinary actions he stipulated to on my case.
I hired Mr. Boney to Help me with a divorce ..I had 3 people take the stand in my defense and right before court when I turned in there statements for exhibits he informed me that he had ran a background search on me not my witnesses ..now I find that odd he is supposed to be on my side ..isn't he? then after a couple months of me calling over and over again he told me to read my contract that he has at least 24-48 hours to return my calls and that I had to stop calling so much, only to turn around and tell the judge he was withdrawing as my attorney for lack of contact! Then he showed up to my next hearing and sat next to me and told the judge repeatedly that we have nothing to ad your honor with each person on cross examination. I Went to him because I needed a lawyer to help me with what was and is my life , my family , my world...and that was what I received in return. I am sure he is not this way in all cases but this is what happened in mine.
