About
Bret Klemetson’s law practice focuses on business transactions for closely-held businesses, such as buying and selling businesses and joint ventures, as well as common transactional matters such as entity formation and structuring, contract drafting and review, succession planning and entity structuring and reorganizations. In his mergers and acquisitions practice, Bret counsels clients from start to finish, beginning with the appropriate transaction structure for buying or selling the business, and then negotiating and drafting the letter of intent, performing due diligence, and negotiating and drafting typical transaction documents such as the purchase agreement, confidentiality agreements, transition services agreements, employment agreements, and consulting agreements. Bret is also a CPA with a public accounting background which enables him to advise on federal and state tax planning and compliance matters. Bret joined Momkus McCluskey as a partner in 2016. Prior to joining Momkus McCluskey, Bret practiced at a large US-based international law firm and a large suburban Chicago firm. Bret lives in Naperville with his wife, Dia and their two sons. He enjoys traveling, tennis, reading, biking and spending time with his family.
