About
Katelynn is originally from the Houston area and has been helping individuals resolve family law issues since before she attended law school. After attending Texas State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication/Electronic Media, Katelynn moved to San Antonio where she worked as a paralegal in a family law firm. She was exposed to a variety of family law issues, including military and civilian divorce, custody arrangements and adoptions.Working in the trenches of a family law firm provided a solid foundation for segueing into practice as an attorney. “Good client communication means everything. When I was a family law paralegal, I realized the best way I could help a client through a stressful divorce was to always be available: by phone, in person, or otherwise. As an attorney, I know my job is to be there for you every step of the way.”As a law student at St. Mary’s University School of Law, Katelynn acquired the education and the practical experience that ultimately prepared her for a career in family law. She served as team captain of St. Mary’s National Moot Court Team where she argued in over fifty-five rounds of moot court, finishing as a four-time national finalist and regional champion. Katelynn was further recognized as a top oral advocate in the nation and she was recognized for writing the best brief at several moot court competitions.During her last year of law school, Katelynn was one of nine students inducted into the National Order of Barristers and was awarded the Patricia Scott award, which is given to the best advocate at St. Mary’s. She also received the Excellence in Appellate Advocacy award from the State Bar of Texas which is awarded to the top appellate advocates in the state. In addition to her passion for courtroom advocacy, during her final year at St. Mary’s, Katelynn spent two years contributing to St. Mary’s Law Journal and served on the Editorial Board as the Solicitations/Articles Editor in her final year. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from St. Mary’s, Katelynn returned to Houston to continue her work in family law with Diggs & Sadler.
