I met with Brent regarding an employee-employer issue. I have lost sleep over my issue and was feeling helpless in resolving my issue. Brent listened carefully while I explained my situation, he gave me well thought out solutions and direction. We even discussed different possible outcomes so I can prepare for whatever happens. He asked several times if I had any questions. We went over the appointment time and he continued to show a lot of patience and kindness. I felt totally comfortable with Brent, trusted his knowledge and competency and would happily go back to him with any legal issues in the future.
I hired Brent for a contentious civil suit that several attorneys I had contacted would not touch. From the beginning, Brent expressed an openness to discuss the matter and he demonstrated an orientation to his profession that his work was about much more than just earning fees. In other words, Brent showed a strong leaning towards a sense of justice that reflects his high degree of character and personal integrity. He never hesitated to be straight about the potential risks of pursuing the lawsuit; but, he also maintained a realistic sense of optimism that I believe had an immense impact on how successful he made my case. Even though the case was contentious, Brent never backed down, showing that my case was important to him and that he could not be bullied. With that said, however, I believe Brent's honest and personable demeanor during trial led to the jurors trusting him a great deal more than they would even your above-average attorney. All in all, in my view, Brent stands out as an attorney because of multiple factors: personal character, ability to connect with people, his intellect, and his capacity for logically organizing highly complicated legal issues. All of these factors contribute to his being a very effective lawyer. I would recommend Brent to anyone I care about, period.
I hired this lawyer to help make some changes to an old deed so the property could be sold. He did not listen to me when I told him what I needed/wanted. He ignored me when I tried to give him the correct names and dates of the people involved. I ended up with so many duplicates of actions that the whole process cost far more than it should have. Some of the procedures changed during the process and I was charged for that, too, even though I had tried to get him to go with the changed process prior to his taking my case. Mr. Smith may be a good criminal lawyer, but I would not recommend him for any real estate transactions at all.
I hired this attorney to stop a illegal garnishment of my bank accout by California child support. I told him the date the money would be sent to them. He did nothing. He also did a Complaint of resolution on several child support issues. He stated that child support did not follow the uniform interstate child support act. The law is they do not have to notify the non-custoial parents home state as they were enforcing under a California state action. I guess he does not know the law. I am a Oregon resident. If he could not help me then why did he take a 500.00 retainer from me for nothing? I ended up hiring a family law attorney in California to help me. I guess I should of done thi in the first place instead of wasting my money with him. I don't recommend this attorney.
