Facing charges from false allegations made against me, I found it necessary to hire an attorney to mount a defense on my behalf. I researched several attorneys in Nashville and the surrounding area. I know now that it was a stroke of good fortune that I found Mr. Brent Horst through this modern marvel called the internet. Reading all the treatises and other information Mr. Horst posted on his website persuaded me that he was the right attorney for my case. My early assessment of his capabilities proved true and even more. Mr. Horst's thorough knowledge of the legal process and nuances in the law, tireless work ethic, and laser-like client focus resulted in an outcome as near perfect as possible to a jury's not guilty verdict. While on a professional level the attorney-client relationship was maintained throughout this whole ordeal, I developed a profound respect and like for Mr. Horst as a person. It also became apparent that he is highly respected in the legal community. I had unfailing confidence in his ability as a man and as an attorney to defend my innocence in court and secure for me a not guilty verdict. That became unnecessary when he was able to persuade the District Attorney to retire the case utilizing a procedure unique to the governing jurisdiction. Mr. Horst has my unwavering respect and endless gratitude for bringing this uncalled for life altering tragedy to a very satisfactory conclusion. He has made it possible for me to regain my respect with my honor intact and move on with my life. Thank you Brent. You gave me my life back.

Mr. Horst's name was given to me through a mutual friend when I was placed in a situation that I never thought I would find myself in defending myself in a criminal case. From the onset of our discussions Mr. Horst's listening skills and empathy he showed for me and my case was remarkable and his compassion was a calm for me during a storm in my life. His experience and navigation through my case and situation was remarkable. His strategic thinking and actions showed me from the start that I was in the right hands and it allowed me to continue with my duties at work and at home. His reputation within the judicial system and when we arrived in court was evident throughout the court employees and the judge the presided over my case as well. My case was retired due to the work that Mr. Horst did and my charges were all dropped. If your searching or need the services of an attorney, you would be doing a disservice to yourself not to call Brent Horst first! DJ

I can’t say enough about how awesome Brent Horst is. After the very first meeting I felt a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders and I knew that everything was going to be alright. I switched from another attorney who was basically telling me that an indictment was inevitable and to just prepare for it. While he never made any promises, Brent made me feel confident the whole time that he could prevent charges from being filed. He immediately went to work after our first meeting and fought to do everything possible to prove my innocence. He truly showed his passion for my case and I knew it meant as much to him as it did to me. He was always available to take my calls and respond to my texts and emails. In the end his passion and hard work payed off and no charges were filed! I will forever be grateful to him for quickly ending the worst nightmare Of my life. If you need a defense attorney, do not think twice about it! Brent Horst is the best!

"Making good decisions is a crucial skill at every level." -  Peter Drucker The quote above is one I wish had come to mind before retaining the first attorney in my criminal case.  It is never a good decision to make a decision from anxiety and fear of unfamiliar circumstances. What prepares a person without a criminal record to take the next step in the judicial process after bonding out of jail? Nothing. Living an honest life for 60 years means little when falsely accused of domestic violence.   Watching as mandatory arrest and no-drop prosecution policies implemented to protect victims of domestic abuse were skillfully exploited and manipulated by the mother of my son's young child was staggering.  The hurried decision after being released from the mandatory Metro Jail 12-hour hold to pay legal retainer fee was a novice's mistake.  Choosing from a list of private counsel found in the reception area of the Public Defender's Office without researching experience and case results almost jeopardized my rights and freedom. Unlike my accuser, there was no army of advocates waiting to guide me through the process. Thankfully, I was able to find Mr. Horst's website in my online search for highly-rated experienced criminal trial attorneys. After watching Mr. Horst's  video “My Client My Fight”, I knew he was the person for my defense.  The most repeated characteristics of successful criminal defense attorneys mentioned in articles I read online were: Credibility, Communication Skills, Knowledge, Confidence, Civility, Personal Involvement and Courtroom Demeanor and my addition to the list - Backbone. Mr. Horst possesses them all in spades. From the beginning, my decision to have the case bound over to Criminal Court was non-negotiable.  Many people said to me, "Why not just accept the General Sessions hallway offer of judicial diversion, conviction, 16 week offender program and no jail time just to be done with the stress?"  Mr. Horst said me,  "Why?" Words cannot describe the feeling of waking up the morning after my case was retired.  For the first time in almost a year the anxiety and thoughts of an emotional trial were gone. I am very grateful for Mr. Horst's endless patience, understanding and guidance during the judicial process. Hopefully, I will not need a criminal trial defense attorney in the future.  I would, however, without hesitation, recommend Mr. Horst to anyone facing charges in criminal court. Brent is the best lawyer I've come across, hands down! I've been through my fair share of lawyers, and he was the only one I found with any sense of urgency and backbone to stand his ground for my case. I battled this felony charge for over half a year until I hired him, and within a few short months he already had it dropped to a misdemeanor with 11-29 probation! I highly recommend him for any of your legal needs! He will get the job done!

I retained Brent for a criminal case. His communication was superlative. He has great respect for the law and his clients. He fought for a new preliminary hearing (PH) after I proceeded pro se in the fist PH and won. He will listen to you (not all will) and he will fight for you (some only give an appearance of this). Brent is a great fighter and person!

Out of all the attorneys I contacted telling them about my case, Mr. Horst was the only that sincerely said "Hey it's going to be alright." With what I was going through, those words gave me comfort alone. He fought hard for me, he gave great advice and was very honest. He even payed a portion of my court fees I couldn't afford and told me not to worry about paying him back. He didn't treat me as a criminal, he treated me as a human, which is a rare trait in lawyers. He helped me so much, not even sure he knows how much. I would recommend him to anyone.

I lived out of state and faced false allegation charges in the Nashville area. My wife and I secured an attorney in the Nashville area who had been referred to us by a local attorney in the city in which we reside. We released him after several months of his inattention to my case. After much research and several interviews we retained Mr. Brent Horst. That decision was based on his answers to our questions in the comfort and quiet surroundings of his office. Mr. Horst quickly instilled confidence in our decision. He listened intently as we discussed the events leading to the charges against me never once questioning my innocence. After we returned home Mr. Horst communicated regularly with pertinent information and actions he was taking as he worked my case. After two years of delays due to factors beyond Mr. Horst's control my case was resolved favorably. My wife and I owe Mr. Horst a debt of gratitude for relieving us of the terrible anguish that lay before us. I would recommend the services of Mr. Brent Horst to anyone needing a strong, confident, knowledgeable and experienced criminal defense attorney who will rise to any and all challenges to defend his client.
