She kept saying that she knows best because she's the one with the law degree, but she wasn't listening to what I wanted. As the client, I should tell her what I'm trying to accomplish, and it's her job to attempt to make it happen in a legal context. At the end of our meeting, she said something along the lines of me wasting her time trying to get free legal advice without retaining her, and that I didn't want to spend what I needed to spend on her. It was very unprofessional and a surefire way for her to keep having to go back to the courtroom to find clients. In the end, I retained another attorney (who charged 150% the hourly rate that Ms Marks does, so as you can see, it wasn't that I didn't want to pay for quality representation). I'm glad I went in a different direction, as I won my case and worked with an attorney who spoke to me like I had some intelligence.
