Brandon R. Conrad, Esq. is a dynamic litigator with a diverse background in real estate litigation, commercial litigation, healthcare litigation and estate planning. He has gained intensive trial and arbitration experience by working on numerous cases throughout his career, including 15 jury trials.Brandon advises residential and commercial real estate owners, investors and developers on contract and lease agreements, raising capital (syndications), commercial transactions and landlord-tenant disputes under Pennsylvania law. He regularly handles landlord-tenant matters, both residential and commercial disputes across Central and Eastern Pennsylvania and for some national clients. Brandon’s real estate business includes helping new investors with their corporate formation and operating agreements, providing guidance on mortgages and other lending mechanisms, tax avoidance, and protecting their assets, as well as representing high net worth investors with acquisitions of hotels, multi-family apartments and commercial properties.He represents companies and individuals in various commercial litigation disputes including non-competition and non-solicitation litigation, breach of contract and collections issues, banking lender-liability and loan workout disputes.Brandon assists high net worth individuals and physicians with all aspects of estate and trust planning matters from complex to basic, including business succession planning, asset protection, special needs planning and guardianships. He also counsels executors, trustees and corporate fiduciaries involving the administration of estates and the ongoing administration of various types of trusts.Brandon has over a decade of experience representing doctors, hospitals and other healthcare professionals in over 300 medical professional liability lawsuits and pre-suit investigations, including cardiothoracic surgery, gastroenterology, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, infectious disease, urology, psychology, obstetrics, gynecology and cardiology. He regularly handles state board licensing issues for dentists, doctors, psychiatrists and nurses and is comfortable working with healthcare providers and sensitive to the critical nature of these types of issues.Brandon is passionate about improving the efficiency of legal processes through technology and better aligning interests in attorney-client relationships. Recently, he helped launch the firm’s Estate Planning Online Portal, which streamlines the process for clients looking to update or create a will or powers of attorney documents for the first time. Brandon is also on the founding team of CourtZip, innovative technology that determines the accurate venue and filing fees for landlord-tenant and civil complaints in any of Pennsylvania’s 550 Magisterial District Courts.Before joining Saxton & Stump, Brandon practiced in the labor and employment group in the Chicago office of Morgan Lewis and Bockius, a national law firm, before returning home to Lancaster in 2010.He reads one book per week and publishes an annual book list on New Year’s Day with his 52 picks for that year and always appreciates a good book recommendation. Brandon comes from a family of healthcare providers, including his father (orthopedic surgeon), mother (stroke program coordinator) and two of his four sisters (NICU nurse and cardiothoracic surgery physician assistant). He is married with two sons and a golden retriever.
