Barbara Marie Penland LaFevers began her solo practice in September 2018. Prior to starting her own practice, Barbara practiced law as an Associate Attorney with the law firm Bulloch, Fly, Hornsby and Evans. Additionally, Barbara was a law clerk for many years to the Honorable Robert E. Corlew, III, Chancellor for the 16th Judicial District.Barbara was born and raised in Middle Tennessee. She received her bachelor degree, cum laude, from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee. She also received her Juris Doctorate from the Nashville School of Law where she was a member of the Honor Counsel Society, Nashville School of Law Legal Society, and Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.She is a member of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Rutherford and Cannon County Bar Associations, Coffee County Bar Association, Middle Tennessee Lawyers Association for Women, and Murfreesboro Noon Lions Club. I can't express enough how truly blessed my son was to have such a strong competent attorney as Barbara. Barbara did an excellent job with my son’s case. She gave us some great advice and things we could do before the court date. That advice paid off and she was able to negotiate a fair deal. Barbara was professional, easy to talk to, and always returned phone calls. I would definitely recommend her.
I recently hired her to handle a family law matter. I feel confident with giving her a 5 star rating. She's extremely knowledgeable in family law. She's also extremely easy to work with,making herself readily available for questions with out charging you some outrageous fee for a simple email or phone call. I'm very happy with her work and she made the process very easy. I would hire her in heart beat again for future legal matters and I highly recommend her. She does great work!
