About

Taylor Rayfield is a trial lawyer for Greene Broillet Wheeler, LLP who has helped obtain many verdicts and settlements for cases involving sex abuse, products liability, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, business torts and legal malpractice.Ms. Rayfield has been lead counsel on multiple trials, and second chair on many cases. Most recently Ms. Rayfield obtained a $2.6 million dollar verdict for a woman who was severely injured after being involved in a head on collision. Ms. Rayfield was able to successfully argue to the jury that the employer was responsible for the acts of its employee under an exception to the going and coming rule. Additionally she has demonstrated tenacity and extraordinary negotiation skills by obtaining a $1.75 million settlement for a student athlete who was sexually abused by a Torrance High School wrestling coach. This resolution secured an important benchmark for nearly 30 other sex abuse victims who had lawsuits slated for trial against the same defendants. Ms. Rayfield represented a high school wrestler who was molested by his coach, Thomas Snider, who ran the school’s wrestling program from 2013 to 2015, despite past allegations he had sexually assaulted an 11-year-old boy on a camping trip. Ms. Rayfield received the 2018 Street Fighter of the Year Award given by the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) for her achievements in this matter. As lead trial counsel, Ms. Rayfield obtained a verdict in a personal injury trial that quadrupled the highest offer made by the defense. Taylor represented a woman who slipped and fell while walking up the front entryway stairs of her apartment. At trial, Ms. Rayfield successfully argued the entryway stairs were in a dangerous condition because the tile used for the stairs became extremely slippery when wet and did not have an adequate length of anti-slip tape which would have prevented the plaintiff from falling.Taylor also helped obtain a $1.4 million jury verdict in a personal injury lawsuit against a San Diego production company for failing to maintain the safety of its studio. The case involved Hollywood actress, Tippi Hedren who suffered significant injuries after a large amount of water fell 20-feet from the ceiling onto her head due to a faulty roof.Playing a key role at trial, Taylor won a hard-fought victory against a California ski resort for a woman paralyzed in a skiing accident. The jury awarded the plaintiff a gross verdict of $22 million against Mountain High Resort. In another heavily contested case, Taylor assisted in securing a $6.3 million settlement for a 14-year-old girl who was badly burned by a defective product at a family barbeque. The lawsuit revealed a widespread danger after reports of more than 23 burn injuries from these unsafe products across the country.Ms. Rayfield attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where she earned a B.S. in Business Administration. She also played varsity volleyball and broke UNC and NCAA records in 2005. She then attended Loyola Law School where she earned her J.D.Ms. Rayfield has made the Super Lawyers Southern California Rising Stars list from 2016-2019. Most recently, Super Lawyers included Ms. Rayfield on the list of 2018 and 2019’s Top 100 Up and Coming Southern Californian lawyers, and 2018 and 2019’s Up and Coming Top 50 Women Southern California lawyers. She is a member of the American Association for Justice, the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, Consumer Attorneys of California and has been a member of the Board of Governors for The Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) since 2014. Ms. Rayfield is a co-chair of the education committee  for CAALA. She is also a member of the State Bar of California and has been admitted to both the U.S. District Court Central District of California, and the American Board of Trial Advocates-SideBar.
