I am an associate attorney with the civil litigation division of Burnham Law Firm located in Boulder, Colorado.I received my Juris Doctorate from the University of Nebraska College of Law. In law school, I developed my skills and passion for litigation while competing in moot court; representing felony clients with the Public Defenders in Albuquerque, New Mexico; and serving as a student attorney in Criminal Clinic for the Lancaster County Attorney’s Office in Lincoln, Nebraska. I earned the CALI: Excellence for the Future Award in Criminal Clinic and received a Certificate of Concentrated Studies in Litigation from the College of Law.I am also well-versed on complex commercial transactions, real estate law, and intellectual property. While working for an international Fortune 500 construction and engineering firm, I analyzed many high-dollar public and private construction contracts. Similarly, by clerking for a boutique law firm in Denver, I was exposed to a wide range of civil litigation, real estate, and business law issues. Moreover, with a former career in music and hospitality—and having earned my second Certificate of Concentrated Studies in Intellectual Property—I continue to expand my knowledge and develop my passion for copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets, as well as noncompete and nondisclosure agreements. Lastly, while in law school, I developed a thorough understanding of Colorado’s ever-changing landscape of cannabis and hemp law. My law review article about the Nebraska Hemp Farming Act, Nebraska Nonsense: Trojan Horse or Cash Crop, is published in Volume 99:2 of the Nebraska Law Review.I was a senior member of both Law Review and Moot Court Board. For moot court, I served as the Fall 2019 Henry R. Grether Moot Court Competition Chair and was awarded Best Brief for the Spring 2019 Thomas S. Allen Moot Court Competition. Additionally, I continued to excel academically while serving on five executive boards including the Student Bar Association and the Sports, Entertainment, and Business Law Association.I understand that practicing law is all about the client. I believe in setting honest, realistic expectations while delivering attentive and passionate legal services. Furthermore, I am committed to using my law degree to help people and to be a leader in my community, having received honors from the College of Law and the Nebraska State Bar for my commitment to pro bono service and leadership.I live in Boulder with my wife, dog, and two cats. I enjoy running and spending time with my family and friends.
