Ms. Balyeat is a licensed attorney who specializes in criminal law and representing respondent parents in Dependency and Neglect (D&N) cases. Ms. Balyeat has an extensive criminal defense background as she has worked for the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender in the Denver and Brighton Trial Offices. Prior to graduating from the University of Colorado School of Law, Ms. Balyeat interned with the Public Defender’s System in the Boulder and Glenwood Springs Offices. Ms. Balyeat has tried 20 criminal cases before a jury including DUI/DWAI, Child Abuse, Assault, and Theft; litigated over 50 motions and restitution hearings; and represented thousands of clients charged with felonies, misdemeanors, and traffic offenses. Ms. Balyeat works tirelessly on behalf of her clients, oftentimes reaching favorable resolutions without the case proceeding to trial. But, Ms. Balyeat’s ample litigation and courtroom experience ensure she is always prepared to take her client’s case to a jury.
