About
Anthony H. Monioudis, a member of our Danville office since 1991, focuses his practice on immigration and civil litigation matters with a desire to help his clients on a very personal level. He is a member of both the Labor & Employment and Litigations sections of the firm. Anthony regularly counsels and assists both businesses and individuals with a variety of issues involving immigration law, including appropriate non-immigrant (temporary) work visas for investors, specialty workers, intra-company transfers and visas related to business visitors, college/university students and others.He also guides clients through the interview and visa procurement process, secures work authorization for spouses when allowed, and assists with customs issues relating to transport of personal or company property.For permanent visas, Anthony works with both businesses and individuals on issues related to EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, EB-4 and EB-5 documentation and, among many other issues, Permanent Resident Card issues and renewals. Anthony also helps permanent residents who desire to become naturalized U.S. citizens.Anthony regularly counsels employers on I-9 compliance (valid employment eligibility) and the serious consequences of noncompliance. He’s also available for workplace audits. As a litigator, Anthony has been involved in numerous jury and non-jury trials (both state and federal court), almost all as lead or sole counsel with a high percentage of successful results. He handles cases that range from simple and complicated motor vehicle and trucking accidents, slip and falls, commercial transactions, business issues, intentional torts, food poisonings, and declaratory judgment actions. Anthony is also well-versed in mediation tactics and is involved with administrative law appeals in immigration law.Twice Anthony was instrumental in establishing new law in Virginia – once introducing the concept of the teaching expert as part of the scope of permissible expert testimony and another involving the rights of minority shareholders and restrictive covenants. He has been honored to be listed among Virginia’s best lawyers in a variety of publications. Upon graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in history, Anthony attended the University of Georgia, graduating cum laude. After four years with the law firm of Landrum & Shouse in Lexington, Ky., Anthony returned in 1991 to his native Virginia and joined Woods Rogers. Anthony is currently on the boards of the Danville Speech and Hearing Center, Danville Sports Club, Mount Hermon Place Homeowners Association and the Parish Council of St. Peter’s Greek Orthodox Church where he is the current treasurer and a former president. Anthony has served in leadership positions and/or board of other organizations in the past, including service as the President of the Danville Bar Association.
