I got a a ticket in VA in December 2013, it was 82/55 so obviously I needed a lawyer to represent me. I contacted Ann and she explained to me all the details I needed to know about the case. I really felt very comfortable working with her, honest and straight forward. Communication was excellent and she always got back to me very quickly and that was the main reason I wanted to work with her. On court day she called me and informed be about the decision before hand and it was what I expected and what we discussed. I am really very thankful to her and highly recommend her to anyone.
I would be willing to bet that in the vast majority of cases the police violate the rights of those they charge with crimes. Even an "honest" police officer may make mistakes (such as searching a young boy's bag without permission, or detaining him and forgetting to read him the Miranda warning). Why should you be punished for not following the law when the police officer also neglected to follow the law? I called Ann for a free consultation concerning my son's case. She spent at least 20 minutes on the phone with me and after listening to the details, she pointed out how the police had violated my son's rights multiple times. She filed a motion to suppress the evidence that was illegally obtained and the prosecutor dropped the charges. In the past, I've gone to lawyers for free consultations and found that most don't want to spend more than a minute with you before asking for money, and I've found many lawyers simply don't know the law. Ann, however, will take time to analyze all the details of your case and give you advice about how to proceed. During my son's case, I must have exchanged more than 20 emails with her. I gave her all the information I could find, and I kept her informed about any new developments. She used every single fact and document I gave her to build a case that showed the prosecution she meant business. I tried to handle one case against my son without a lawyer and paid dearly. If I have to ever go to court again, I'm going to call Ann because I know she will work to make sure I have a good outcome, no matter how minor the case. Here is my advice: Call Ann! Make sure you write down bullet points of what happened while it's fresh in your memory. Tell Ann the details. She will take notes, ask lots of questions, and tell you what she can do for you. I know many lawyers will not even do that. I called her on a Friday, and the next Monday she was in court representing my son at his initial hearing. A month later we went to trial and we had the best possible outcome. She even helped us get a punishment related to a previous charge removed due to medical reasons. Although Ann fulfilled the terms of her contract with me and could just walk away, she is helping my son recover property the police officer took from him, AND she said she would be with him later this month when he will be called to testify against a dangerous character who has already made threats against him. Isn't she amazing?!? I honestly don't know where you will find a better lawyer than Ann. Call Ann and then call a couple of other lawyers and you'll see what I'm talking about. Thanks to her my son learned that you can fight for your rights when you've been violated. Her fees were extremely fair--about one-third of what I expected to pay. Stop reading reviews and CALL ANN!
I had numerous law firms send me reams of paper saying that they could represent me not even knowing anything about my case. Ann was honest, and explained everything clearly and when it came down to representing me she negotiated like a pro the best solution for me. She appears to be a very hard worker, and she will work and use her vast knowledge of law to give you the best outcome possible.
Wow: The. Complete. Package. Got my criminal reckless driving, generally, misdemeanor charge amended to failure to obey a highway sign--a traffic infraction I paid $100 fine for; not to mention, I only lost 3 driving points! Ann Thayer is absurdly intelligent, extremely well-connected, truly passionate, and a consummate professional. You'd be a fool not to hire her immediately. I was involved in a 1-person, 1-car accident in Fairfax County that--details aside--was BAD. Ann was super helpful and clear--from the second I hired her after our consultation--in what she wanted from me, and due to that clarity and ease of communication due to her accessibility--even during year 3 of a global pandemic--I was able to gather all necessary documents in time when my hearing was moved up by AN ENTIRE MONTH! Ann Thayer truly cares about her clients and is one of the few good people left in this country. Her quality of work and skill as an attorney are unparalleled and she is truly a queen in every regard. Thayer is INDEED there. Hire her NOW!
I've hired Ann Thayer one four separate occasions and, every case has been resolved with the best possible outcome. She is highly professional and responsive.
Ann is an excellent attorney. She is professional, responsive, intelligent, caring, and she really fights for the best outcome for her clients. She genuinely cares about her clients and it really shows in her work. She made me feel as comfortable as possible and explained everything to me very thoroughly. She helped me get the case dismissed before the trial which was the best possible outcome. I truly can't say enough positive remarks about Ann. I highly recommend her!

Ann did an awesome job and kept me from having to go to jail! I can't say enough positive remarks to compliment Ann. Outstanding representation, from my initial consultation until final sentencing. I would recommend Ann for any of your needs.
Ann did a great job advising me with my protective order. She helped respond to motions from the respondent and was highly prepared. With her counsel, we were able to get all motions dismissed leaving the protective order intact and the respondent taken into custody for protective order violations.
I contacted Ms. Ann and got a free consultation. After I told her about my case she explained to me my charges and that there is many ways we can take on this case. She made me feel comfortable and confident that we could potentially walk away with a good outcome, that's why I was hiring a lawyer was for the best outcome an i got it! Felony distribution dismissed. Misdemeanor distribution knocked down to simple possession of paraphernalia. I walked away with no jail time no loss of license no fines ONLY a court cost of $92!!! She did more than I expected and I couldnt have gotten a better outcome! Thank you Ms.Ann Thayer!!!

Ms. Thayer is a great lawyer, professional and caring. I was lucky to have her helped me with the protective order against me. Finally the case has been denied.

Ann Thayer represented me in my first (and last) DWI. She explained all processes and made me feel comfortable during this humiliating experience.
Ann Thayer represented me in my first (and last) DWI. She explained all processes and made me feel comfortable during this humiliating experience.
