About
Amanda is Of Counsel in the Labor & Employment and Litigation sections of Coats Rose. She joined the firm in 2010. Amanda’s practice is concentrated primarily in labor and employment and she has defended employers in Title VII employment discrimination claims, and claims under the FLSA, FMLA, ADEA, OSHA, USERRA, ADAAA, WARN Act, and other employment-related lawsuits, as well as contractual disputes arising out of noncompete and employment agreements. She regularly advises employers with respect to reductions-in-force, drafting policies, handbooks, and employment agreements. She also has experience in unemployment compensation and collective bargaining actions, including defending grievances and unfair labor practice charges. Amanda is a Certified Ethics Trainer for the State of Louisiana. She is licensed in Louisiana and Texas.While at Loyola, Amanda was a member of the National Moot Court Team, Articles Editor for the Loyola Journal of Public Interest Law, a teaching assistant for Moot Court and Legal Research & Writing, as well as a member of Delta Theta Phi. She received the Law Excellence Award for Moot Court Day Division and was a finalist in the J. Sanford Levy Best Brief Competition. Amanda earned her degree in journalism at the University of Illinois, and was a member of the Illini Equestrian Team and Phi Sigma Sigma sorority. She has been published in the Loyola Journal of Public Interest Law and the Louisiana Bar Journal.
