We found ourselves in a long, difficult two-year process of trying to protect our young granddaughter. Ms. Parker was professional, competent and amazingly compassionate as she worked with our family. She took tremendous amounts of time understanding our concerns and CARED about our granddaughter's well-being. There were times when she showed up and didn't charge a fee because she CARED. We don't know what our future legal needs might be (and we pray we don't find ourselves back in the courts fighting for our granddaughter); but if we do, our first call will be to Ms. Parker.
Whatever you do, do not use Laurie Parker to do a Trust. If you do, this is what you can expect. You will pay a large retainer fee before anything is ever initiated (mine was $3000). Then you will be in a several month process with you attempting repeatedly to get Laurie to return your calls & emails. You will finally have to contact her staff to ever get her to follow up with you. There will be so much time elapsed between discussions that Laurie can't even remember what you discussed previously. She will claim that she is too busy and overwhelmed, she will lie & tell you that she sent you emails when she doesn't & that they are having server problems is why she didn't respond to your emails. By the time we got done we had so little confidence in the final product that we just went to a new attorney and basically got absolutely nothing but a great deal of frustration and disappointment from the experience with Laurie … $3000 completely down the drain! Do yourself a favor & find someone competent who will do a Trust in a couple weeks & at a third of the cost of Laurie. She way over complicates the process and honestly does not know what she is doing. If you could give a -0- Star review, that is what she would get from my wife & I.
I don't normally like to rate or give reviews, but I feel I must warn others. This woman should find a new career or retire. She clearly should not be a lawyer. I don't even get how she has been able to work in that nice Franklin law office with her lack of skills and confidence this long? When she was my lawyer there was a lack of focus and no care involved. My case was completely mismanaged, what a complete and utter nightmare this experience was. She took months to even return a call or email, only to respond with information I already had and excuses. I would ask her a question and she would say that she seemed to have a lack of know-how. My simple probate case dragged on and on when it should have been wrapped up so much sooner. This is done on purpose to give you fatigue so that you finally give up. My simple probate case took years and years. I recently spoke to other lawyers about it and they were appalled at the time frame of it all. I would NEVER recommend this women or the firm she represents. I heard they take their sweet time with all these cases as to drain you financially over time. Sorry Laurie A Parker, you asked for this review so here it is.
Having a time sensitive issue to be handled concerning my children, I went to Ms. Parker. She assured me she would fight for me and my children and handle the situation immediately. Not only did she mishandle the situation, she failed to file any of the necessary paperwork. After repeated unsuccessful attempts to get her to take action, I fired her and asked for my money back. She informed me I had run over my retainer, even though she had literally done nothing. I asked for backup and she provided false records and filings that had never seen the light of day until I asked for a refund. She talks big with no results. The impression I got of her is that she likes to "play" at being an attorney without following up and actually doing anything. Because of her incompetence and inactivity I completely lost all momentum and it cost me being able to take care of a situation that was very detrimental to my children's well being.
I met with Ms. Parker regarding some family trust and family law issues. Our consultation went very well and I retained her that day. After waiting more than 4 weeks to hear anything regarding my trust we finally met, where she stumbled all over her information as if she had not even familiarized herself with my trust. It was very frustrating and she even admitted to not being on her game and very tired. She concluded that I needed to hire anther attorney. I made another meeting with her to discuss my family law matter but before we met I received an email with a letter stating that she was no longer going to represent me because she felt she had lost my trust and was sending back half of my retainer for the family law portion. That was fine, except that we never had a conversation about this and she basically charged me $1500 to tell me I needed another lawyer. I called and emailed several times to discuss this matter but still have never heard back from her or her firm. Very frustrating and unprofessional. I hope in the future she will be more forthright and honest with her clients.

Parker.
