I had an awesome experience with Attny. Lisa Counters! I cannot say enough about the helpful, professional, kind and caring I received from the entire staff. I highly recommend them for a favorable outcome to your case. They break the stereotype! Many many thanks!!!
Thank you so much for your assistance and willingness to continue to listen. I agree you are a "Super Lawyer". God bless, Fred
We are in the middle of a complicated workmans comp case. Mr. Schiffman has been great working with us. Nothing is easy with our case and we didn't even know what to do. We put it in Mr. Schiffman hands and he is seeing us through. We appreciate his time and patience so much.
I have been fighting for SSD benefits for 5 years and had multiple denials through another attorney. I was fortunate enough to get an appointment with Alan right away. When I went for my appointment, I actually met with both Alan and Anna! They agreed not only to take my case to the federal court, but also to file a new claim as things continue to decline with my condition. I recently found out that we won our federal case and I couldn't be happier! It's been a long road since the beginning of all this and I only wish that I had known about this team of experts at Schiffman & Puig from the beginning! I highly recommend Alan, Anna and their entire team! Their prompt responses and understanding of all has truly saved me! Thank you!
I was introduced to Alan through a close friend during a very critical season. Simply put, this was a very difficult time for me and my family and I was very leery about working with a legal firm. My friend suggested that I set-up a free consult with Alan. I was encouraged by the fact that I was able to get in rather quickly. I recall Alan personally meeting me in the lobby and accompanying me on the elevator ride up to his office! The environment felt very professional, yet friendly. Within a very short time, I developed a great sense that I would be able to trust, Alan. I then proceeded to "let my guard down" and begin hammering away at the details of my case. I found his attention to detail and overwhelming desire to help, was key in my decision to move forward. Alan displayed a very calm, but effective style and I was honored that he took on my case. Once on board, I found his team to be equally friendly, too. My assigned Paralegal, Leslie, was always on her game. Thank you, Leslie! In the end, he and his team took a considerably complicated matter head-on -- and won! In closing, I have provided Schiffman Law Office's contact information to several colleagues; all of whom have shared very positive feedback about there interaction with the firm. Alan, Lisa, Leslie, Deb, and team, don't change a thing! We are very blessed to have had your support -- thank you!
My son was gravely stricken from an injury he received at work. He was fighting for his life, and he had to undergo five operations within the first week of his hospitalization. I was by my son's side the entire time. Both night and day I was my son's patient advocate and the family representative, and let me tell you that it was the worst experience of my life watching my son suffer and not knowing if he would live or die. I now continually pray for all of the people and their families who have to experience such emotional and physical trauma. Needless to say, my son was in no condition to deal with any of the medical paperwork, insurance and associated legal matters. He was so hurt and so sick and he had such a bad infection. It was terrible. The entire family was so stressed and so tired out. To make matters worse, my son's employer abandoned him by claiming the accident didn't happen at work. Nobody will ever know how much that abandonment hurt my son. Let me tell you something: my son had faithfully worked for this very same employer for 10 years ever since he was 18 years old. He was always there for his employer. And let me tell you it was like getting a knife in the back. We needed help to make things right! It's not easy to find good help. I don't care if you're looking for a good mechanic, hairdresser, dentist, roofer, plumber or whoever... it's just so damn hard to find somebody who is trustworthy and who does a good job. Attorneys are no different. So I won't bore you with all of the reasons why we chose Javier Puig to represent my son, but one of the most relevant and important reasons why we chose Javier Puig is because he used to work in behalf of the insurance companies. So he knows what goes on inside of the corporate beast. I must tell you that it is a very big advantage to have somebody on your side who used to work hard for the opposing side and who knows the tactics of your legal opponent(s). And Javier Puig's years of experience is what you're going to need in order to get a legal decision in your favor. But there's something more important than Javier's Puig's experience that sets him apart from the rest. It's his willingness to go to trial against giants. That is what he did for my son. He went to trial. He's a trial attorney and not just somebody who'll talk and talk and try to settle a case outside of court. Mr. Puig isn't all talk and no action --- like many of the so called "attorneys at law". I was there, too, in court, the entire time. I testified. And I can tell you that Javier Puig was outstanding as both our legal counsel and representative. He handled our case beautifully. And this trial wasn't my first rodeo. I've had my own previous experience with corporate lawsuits --- big cases--- one of which went all the way up to a state supreme court. So I know a thing or two about a really good, articulate attorney when I see one in action. And the bottom line is Mr. Puig exceeded my expectations in every way. He undid the mess we made of the insurance paperwork and all of the incompetent mistakes my son made in the reporting process. Mr. Puig adroitly pleaded and advocated in a most effective manner what might have otherwise been an unwinnable case. Because of some of the honest but serious mistakes my family and I made we could have lost the case, but, instead, we WON our case in front of a judge. Not only did we win, but we won BIG. We got the best possible outcome --- including over a quarter of a million dollars of medical bills covered. And I can attribute all of the aforementioned to Mr. Puig's exceptional ability to articulate a legal case before a judge...... To anybody who is reading this because you or a loved one has suffered an accident: God's speed and may God be with you in your time of trouble. And please, for your own piece of mind, don't hesitate or wait another minute to find legal help. These insurance companies are ruthless, so find yourself a good attorney.
Mr. Schiffman and his staff are highly professional, compassionate, and qualified. They worked with me to a positive decision and I would not have been able to deal with Social Security without their help.
When my wife became disabled at work in 2007 we were almost immediately overwhelmed with the situation. We felt abused and taken advantage of by her employer’s workers’ compensation contractor, and she was even accused of faking her injury. Meanwhile, we were under stress and getting behind with bills. We were being spied on and questioned at every turn. All we really wanted was for my wife to get better or, if that was not possible, to be fairly compensated. What we got was the runaround. Then my wife found The Schiffman Law Office on the internet. Alan Schiffman agreed to take my wife’s case with her employer, and things changed dramatically. Suddenly, our rights were respected, and we no longer had to live in dread of the next letter or phone call. Alan Schiffman and his staff & associates were very understanding of our situation and the stresses involved. We appreciated their kindness and patience with us. It was such a relief to have them working on our behalf. We were kept updated very well, and they explained things in plain speech without a bunch of legal jargon. Any time we called with a question we usually received an answer at that time, the same day or within twenty-four hours. Frequently, Alan called us personally to make sure we had a good understanding of what was going on. My wife and I agreed that we felt valued by Alan and his team. It turned out that my wife’s case was quite complex and not easily handled. The Schiffman Law Office stayed with us the whole time, eventually winning the case and a settlement for my wife. They also agreed to represent her with Social Security, and this case also came out positive. There were times when we might have given up completely. The legal system is so confusing and complicated that we had no hope of figuring out what to do on our own. When my wife’s employer accused her of faking we were very frustrated, and when she was initially turned down by Social Security we were quite disheartened. Alan was very encouraging and inspiring. His confidence in my wife’s case helped us not to be discouraged. He took care of everything; he didn’t just stand by us he stood with us throughout the appeal process with Social Security. I should add that we were never asked for any money up front. After talking with other lawyers that wanted hundreds of dollars just to look at my wife’s case we were very grateful for that. The fees were very reasonable and everything was clear and understandable before we agreed to have The Schiffman Law Office represent her. Once the case was settled there were no surprises. My wife and I are extremely grateful for the help we received from Alan Schiffman and his associates. We could not have made it through this ordeal without him. I am very happy to write this letter saying so, because we believe there is no one better.
So I had an appointment with Alan Schiffman today. figured I'd write a review for future seekers of disability lawyers in the area. I have to say I was more than pleased with the attention to detail and the knowledge pertaining to the disability system. Even informed me of a type of claim that I might qualify for because of when my injury was sustained. He went over everything and always asked if I was understanding, more than willing to explain further. He made me feel comfortable when I usually have anxiety issues in doctors and lawyers offices. He's the kind of guy where he's not gonna try to just take your money. He going to try and find a way for you to get the benefits you deserve without his help. But when it comes to the point of necessity, he'll exhaust all options before he'll quit fighting for you. Ive had a couple bad experiences with Disability Lawyers where they just overlooked my claim completely and refused to help. Even had appointments canceled. Heck, when I came here, I was 30 mins early and he got to me within 10 mins pretty much. That might not always be possible, but when it is, he'll do it. If you need the help, you at least owe it to yourself to have a sit down with him or his partners and see if need his services.
Alan Schiffman was great at answering my questions. Even though he was not longer taking cases where I was he helped me in finding someone that was willing to take on my case. He did this free of charge and gave me complete detailed answers. I think he would be an exceptional lawyer to hire.
