My wife and I hired Alan after getting a consult appointment arranged by a mutual friend. Alan was working at MRB at the time and was highly recommended. Our case involved our son being hit and killed by a police officer. Alan is a known expert in handling these kinds of cases involving municipal immunity and trying to break through the limits that municipalities can be accountable for. Alan and his co-council Rip Andrews have worked long and relentlessly on this case for seven plus years. Alan has kept us informed all along the way as he worked through all the obstacles put up by the opposing attorneys. Alan conducted and sat in on several depositions that needed to be done to get prepared for the trial. There have been several issues that had to be decided by the Alabama Supreme Court that took time to sort out and he pressed on through those with great success. We were given a trial date in June and met with Alan the week before to go over what I would need to do and what he felt like would happen during the week of trial. During the trial while either asking the questions or observing the opposing attorneys question witnesses, Alan was extremely professional in his questioning and objections to other questions. While being professional, he was tough and stood his ground to defend and support our side of the argument. Alan is very knowledgeable on the law and statutes pertaining to our particular case and has a very confident presence about him when presenting the case. My wife passed away two years ago but I feel sure that I can speak for her when I say that Alan has done an outstanding job in his preparation and implementation of this case. I would recommend Alan Lasseter to anyone who needs a very competent and respected lawyer for their needs. I also, most importantly of all, consider Alan a trusted friend who I put my utmost confidence in.
Attorneys these days are much like doctors; specialized. An attorney that claims to "do it all" can't possibly be a great attorney in all areas of law. Alan is quick to say when something is outside his area of expertise and has willingly located other attorneys for me who do specialize in a particular area. That characteristic is a sign of integrity and humility; two traits that I find refreshing and essential in someone that you are trusting to represent you in critical, important matters. I am trusting Alan with very important matters and he has done all the things that I believe are "on the mark" and on time. I would recommend Alan for any of the areas of law that he specializes in and as a great counselor to you when complex cases where he admits that he may need help to get you the best result. Alan seems to genuinely care about his clients! He is helping me with a case involving a poorly designed medical device that has caused not only permanent physical and emotional damage to my life, it has totally redirected my life. While he is not handling all aspects of the case, he has been my "go to" guy and a true counselor.
