About
My goal for every case – no matter how complex – is to make the divorce process direct, efficient and easy to understand. For the past 13 years, I have represented parents, business owners and high-net-worth individuals in hundreds of divorce cases. I have navigated the most complex legal issues in divorce, including changes to final property judgments, allegations of fraud, and contentious multi-year custody litigation. I was the first lawyer to enter a limited-appearance in any case in the state of Nebraska. My clients benefit from my passion for technology and innovation. I apply tools that save time, money and aggravation. I created the Nebraska Child Support Calculator, a piece of software used by more than 1,000 Nebraska lawyers and judges. In the courtroom, I manage thousands of pages of exhibits from my MacBook, while many opponents lug boxes of documents.I frequently speak on legal technology and family law. I provide annual training for the Nebraska State Bar Association on new case law and trends, and I have testified on family law issues before the Nebraska Legislature.

After interviewing several Omaha-area attorneys for who would be the best fit to represented me in my divorce, I selected Adam based on his knowledge, demeanor, and experience. I was not just dissolving a marriage, but also trying to arrange for what was best for my two young children as well, so I wanted to make sure I selected the best attorney possible. Adam exceeded my expectations. What was perhaps most impressive to me was that Adam was able to meet with both my ex-to-be and I at one point to assure my ex that it was not his nor my intent to propose anything unfair, he reviewed the facts and laws with her, and earned her trust enough that we quickly agreed to settlement and custody terms without a mediator or court appearance. Being able to achieve that highly desirable result while legally representing only my interests (and my kids') speaks volumes to me about Adams talents. I have recommended Adam to two close friends of mine and will continue to recommend him to those in need of family law services.
After finding myself named as a defendant in Nebraska civil action, as an out of state resident I was doubly concerned. A series of legal referrals lead me to Adam for an initial consultation. Due to my inability to meet with Adam in person my decision on whether to retain his services would rely heavily on a phone interview-consultation. Through referring counsel Adam had already been briefed on my case and within minutes of our initial conversation I was able to sense his understanding of not only the law but how it related and applied to the unusual nature of my particular case. Furthermore, coming from Adam I could hear an eagerness maybe even a bit of excitement for an opportunity to tackle my complex and perhaps even one of a kind case. His knowledge, eagerness and his ability to layout out a clear course of action sealed the deal for me. Adam is very confident, thorough, well prepared and comfortable in his grasp of the law. These great attributes became obvious in the courtroom where Adam is an extremely effective litigator. Throughout what became a lengthy process Adam kept me posted on what was going on with my case, gave me risk/rewards scenarios and was even gracious enough to hear me out me as I "armchair quarterbacked" at times. Perhaps as important as any other factor as the tide turned in our favor rather than fuel a fire that certainly would've generated sizable additional legal fees, Adam simply reminded me of our original goals. From time to time I hear others express thoughts that attorney's perpetuate situations for their personal enrichment. I gained a lot of respect for Adam when he advised me to take the victory and walk away rather than to push on in punitive fashion as I was tempted. In my opinion Adam is rising star of Nebraska law and I highly recommend him.
Acted as my divorce attorney while I was deployed overseas. Communication with him was delayed and he would not adjust to the 8-9 hour time difference I had. Email communication was not acceptable to him despite the time difference. 2 years after the fact I am learning where he failed to properly advise (parenting time for me as an out of state military guy for start). Received the decree from him almost three weeks after it was signed. When decree was received he recommended ten things to do, seven of which I had already completed. In hindsight, I should have considered the initial consultation fee as a sunk cost.
I am a previous and VERY unsatisfied client of Mr. Adam Astley. I hired Mr. Astley to help me with my divorce. Although Mr. Astley seemed to be quite intelligent and had accolades to his name, I do not feel that he used his knowledge to benefit me or my court case. Beyond this, I rarely received return phone calls unless the call was regarding paying his bill. I felt that there were several very important things that should have definitely been explained to me, that were not. I also wasn't informed about many, better options that I had available until AFTER the decree was signed, and at that point, it was too late. I have spoken with several other attorneys and every single one of them, bar none, has been shocked at how unfair and terrible the settlement that I received was. In fact, I am now having to take my ex-husband back to court for a new settlement because the one that Mr. Astley bartered for me was, as far as I am concerned, awful. I personally have never had such a terrible experience and outcome with someone in a professional line of work in my life. Please, I implore you, save yourself time, money and disappointment and find a different attorney. I only wish that I had checked Mr. Astley's reviews prior to hiring him.
Adam was my attorney and I received a terrible settlement directly as a result of his terrible legal advice. I am having to go back to court AGAIN to refight the same case. Not only was he not upfront with me, he kept charging more & more money with no evidence of billed hours he supposedly worked on my case. He accepted all of the requests of the other party and did noting that I could see to stand up for me and my case. Worst attorney I’ve ever used and I’ve had several. Save your money, I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to Adam Astley.
I have used many attorney's throughout my life, and I have never received or seen such poor communication by an attorney! He ignored emails and phone calls (from me) for months at a time. I later found out that he also ignored proposals, phone calls, and emails from opposing council for weeks and months at a time. His incompetence, horrible service, lack of communication, and complete unprofessionalism cost me precious time and thousands of dollars. Additionally, I paid his retainer and only received one invoice stating his billable hours over the course of more than a year. DO NOT hire Adam as an attorney!
Awful attorney, did not work, screwed me over, I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to this guy, save your money and find a good attorney this guy sucks!!!!
Despite documented proof of our daughter's ex- husband use of porn, sexting, and heavy alcohol use, AND his documented failure to render aid in an emergency which almost caused her death, Mr. Astley failed to successfully negotiate anything but the "usual" shared custody. Our two granddaughters have been exposed to alcohol use and even alcohol stills and bottling of beer. They dislike that nearly half their time is spent with their father, and sense his main interest in shared custody was reduced child support. The neglect is getting worse as the girls get older. That's what we got from Adam Astley for $13,000.
